Dundee Lions presents donation to Boys and Girls Club

The Dundee Township Lions recently presented a check for $500 to the Boys and Girls Club of Dundee Township, which has been a longtime recipient of donations from the Lions.

Lion Ernie Gamino says the Lions feel proud to support a club that enriches the lives of so many kids and makes such a huge impact on the community. He says young people need to know that people care about them and the Lions are glad they can be a part of this.

This past month, the Lions have been making a variety of donations to a number of community organizations as well as to the nearby recent tornado victims. Next week, they will also be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a high school student in honor of Phylis Lange Connelly, a longtime Lion and respected choir leader and musician in the Fox Valley community.

The Lions meet regularly in the evening at the Village Squire in West Dundee. Individuals wanting to find out more about the Lions are invited to attend a meeting. Call Jim McClung, president, at (847) 567-7127 for a reservation.
