Fremd clubs 3 homers to top Meadows
Fremd freshman catcher Lexi D'Ambrosio belted her first home run and also went 3-for-3 with 3 RBI and 2 runs as the host Vikings defeated Rolling Meadows 12-1 in five innings on Thursday.
D'Ambrosio wasn't the only Fremd freshman to send the ball over the fence in the Mid-Suburban League softball crossover.
Jessica Mazur (2-for-4, 3 RBI, 2 runs) also belted a home run.
Senior Julie Josten got into the home run act as well, and she went 3-for-4 with 2 runs and a RBI.
Other top hitters for the Vikings (19-3, 8-1) were Abby Iuorio (3-for-4, 2 runs), Julia Wacker (2-for-4, double 2 RBI, 1 run) and Holly Straup (2-for-3, double, 2 runs, RBI).
Lea Barrett (7-1) notched the win, throwing three innings with 2 strikeouts while Hailey Goodwin went the final two innings and recorded 3 strikeouts.
Lauren Hattory was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Meadows (2-18, 0-9), which also received hits from Paige Connor and Meghan Slowik.
