Softball: Lake County roundup

Ashley Stephens' single in the bottom of the eighth scored Hannah Skoog from third base, lifting Antioch's softball team to a 9-8, walk-off win over Stevenson in a North Suburban Conference crossover Thursday.

Antioch (17-4) received 2 hits apiece from Stephens, Skoog, Taylor Schiltz, Annie Wagner and Jaclyn Geraty. Wagner and Deighton Butenschoen doubled, and Geraty tripled.

Stevenson got a home run and triple from Taylor Koenigs. Vera Pflugradt had a double.

Wauconda 4, Lake Zurich 0: Kayla Wedl and Paige Motley tripled for the Bulldogs in the North Suburban crossover.

Wedl pitched a 1-hitter, striking out seven and walking one, as Wauconda improved to 15-10. Wedl and Mallory Carver were both 2-for-3 at the plate.

Libertyville 5, Grant 4: Hannah Heraty was 3-for-4 with a homer, and Lyndsey Lyon also homered for the Wildcats in the North Suburban crossover.

Michaela Mooney and Franny Quenan were both 2-for-4 for Libertyville. Heraty went the distance in the circle, striking out eight.

Mundelein 13, North Chicago 0: Freshman Breanna Adams pitched her first varsity no-hitter, striking out 11 and walking one in the North Suburban crossover, which lasted four innings.

Maddie Zazas (2-for-2) and Kaitlyn Griffin (2-for-2) doubled twice for Mundelein (19-4). Jordyn West, Olivia Michalski and Adams (2-for-2) hit doubles.

Warren 15, Round Lake 9: Sabrina Trevino homered twice and went 4-for-5 with 6 RBI for the Blue Devils in the North Suburban crossover.

Rachele Belletini and Emily Partlow each had 2 hits for Warren.

Ashley Wegner homered for Round Lake.
