Images: 1960's suburban fire departments Retro Gallery

In this week's Retro Gallery, we feature a mix of photos from our Daily Herald archives in the 1960s of fire departments from Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, Mount Prospect, Palatine and Schaumburg.

Also in the gallery are historical images of the St. Charles Fire Department, courtesy of the St. Charles History Center and the St. Charles Fire Department.

Henry Young and Hunneman Steamer operating at Mill fire in St. Charles, c.1895.The fire began in the Grist and Flour Mill, located where the St. Charles Municipal Building stands today.
