Mary Ann Troxell is Dedicated to Excellence at the Des Plaines Park District

Mary Ann Troxell received the Dedicated to Excellence Award at the April 21 meeting of the Des Plaines Park District Board of Commissioners, from Amy Garbacz, the district's Business Manager, and Katie Skibbe, Superintendent of Business. Mary Ann was recognized for her willingness to step up and take on additional Accounts Payable responsibilities recently, during a critical time at the park district.

Mary Ann is perhaps best known to the residents and businesses of Des Plaines as the district's Facility Rental Coordinator, working tirelessly with every person who requests a special room for their party, the gazebo at Central Park for their wedding, or one of several picnic shelters available in West Park and Lake Park. Her hands-on approach and dedication to the details of each individual event has been recognized with a special Thank You from Attorney General Lisa Madigan's office, and from our local veteran's organizations.

In addition to her outstanding work with facilities and events, Mary Ann is also the Accounts Receivable Clerk, with responsibilities that include installment billing, credit card payments, and cash control procedures, as well as providing the administration with statistical and sales information for the district's revenue facilities. Said Business Manager, Amy Garbacz, "I am so lucky to have Mary Ann in our Business Department. She helps keep everything running smoothly."
