Cougars' new patio area to debut at Friday's game
A new outdoor patio in the first base lawn area will make its debut at Friday's Kane County Cougars game against Beloit, team officials announced Tuesday.
Friday's game also marks the opening of the lawn areas and the first of two consecutive "Halfway to Halloween" theme nights. It also is the first post-game fireworks show of the season at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in Geneva, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary all year long.
Fans can bring their lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a day at the ballpark with a view of the on-field action and promotions. Lawn tickets start at $9 for most games this season. Tickets available at (630) 232-8811 or kccougars.com.
"The Patio" features a circular pit area and 16 multicolored Adirondack chairs and tables facing the field. The chairs, along with the entire lawn area, is a general admission seating area.
The furniture has been provided by Wannemaker's Home and Garden, which also sponsors the popular Outside Grill, which features some of the ballpark's most popular grilled items including their signature barbecue pork chop sandwich.
"Our partnership with Wannemaker's Home and Garden has really taken our first base lawn seating area to a new level with today's announcement," Cougars owner Cheryl Froehlich said. "The multicolored chairs and landscaping add a nice touch to the look of the ballpark."
