Streamwood fire causes $100,000 in damage
The Streamwood Fire Department was called just after noon Monday about a fire in the attached garage of a home on the 100 block of Hastings Mill Road. Upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy fire coming from the garage door and into the second floor of the single-family home. No one was hurt. Full story.
Former Kane County Board member dies
No matter the problem, Lee Barrett always was there to help, family and friends say of the former Kane County Board member. The 77-year-old from East Dundee died Saturday at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin. A longtime Dundee Township Republican precinct committeeman, Barrett was active in Kane County politics until the end. Full story.
