Local press missed Tea Party meeting

Local press missed Tea Party meeting

Thank you Mr. Lee Hamilton, your comments April 24 in the Daily Herald were right on the mark. "Politics needs journalists' oversight." Our citizens do have the right to know but far too often, journalism falls short.

There are always two sides to every story and Lee suggests that journalists dig for the truth in the story so our citizens/voters can form their own opinions.

With that said, I have to ask, where were all our local journalists last April 15, when the annual Tea Party meeting was held at the Arcada Theater in St. Charles?

Hundreds of conservative taxpaying citizens attended this annual meeting. The meeting was scheduled to go two hours - with a high level of interest from those in attendance, the meeting ran an hour plus over the scheduled time.

Kathy Hamilton from DuPage County had the interest of all there with her story of how she helped expose the "business as usual" at the College of DuPage and the mishandling of taxpayer funds by the college board and Mr. Breuder. Thank to the press, the waste there has been reported on in our news papers for the last two months.

Other speakers included Adam Andrzejewski, Dan Proft, Larry Kaifesh, Joe Walsh, John Tillman, David From, Pastor Cory Brooks, Jesus Alaniz and C. Steven Tucker.

However, not a peep about this annual Tea Party meeting at the Arcada Theater in our area papers the next day. Even come Friday, two days later, no mention of this annual Tea Party gathering.

This was a fine example of a system of unbalanced reporting. Where were all our fine area reporters that evening? Everyone best be served by our press.
