Festival Chorus 50th Anniversary Celebration Concert

The Festival Chorus, under the direction of Ann Espel will celebrate its 50th year of making music with a concert on May 3, 3:30 pm, at the Harper College Performing Arts Center. The chorus has been affiliated with Harper College since 1968. The 72 member chorus will perform John Rutter's GLORIA, Randall Thompson's THE TESTAMENT OF FREEDOM, Andre J. Thomas's I DREAM A WORLD, Joseph M. Martin's COME TO THE MUSIC, Gwyneth Walker's CROSSING THE BAR, Seth Houston's A MINER'S LIFE and Mark Hayes' arrangement of DIDN'T MY LORD DELIVER DANIEL? The performance will include a full professional orchestra. The concertmaster is James Sanders.

Tickets are available at harpercollege.edu/boxoffice, or you can call (847)925-6100. General admission is $18, but special pricing is available for students and seniors. Children under 5 are FREE.

The Festival Chorus is a non-profit community chorus. No auditions are required to join, but singers are voice-placed. Rehearsals are Mondays from 7:30 to 10:00 pm. The starting date for next fall will coordinate with the start of fall term at Harper College. There is a registration fee and a charge for music.
