Lisle Lions wrap up successful basketball season

Lisle Lions travel basketball ended the 2014-15 season with several championship tournament wins.

The Lisle Lions competed in more than 30 games throughout the season, including travel league games, scrimmages and tournament competition.

The fifth-grade and eighth-grade girls' teams took first place in their respective West Suburban Girls Basketball League Travel Tournaments. The seventh-grade boys' team also took first place in the DuPage Youth Travel Basketball League Tournament and the Glenbard Holiday Tournament.

Lisle Lions travel basketball is dedicated to preparing athletes for high school-level competition. The coaches include Bryan Hermick, eighth-grade boys; Ed Vaughn and Carl Webb, seventh-grade boys; Tim Chapman, sixth-grade boys; Dan Cahill, fifth-grade boys; Dustin Weaver, eighth-grade girls; Byron Rossin, sixth-grade girls; and Carl Webb and Mike Beaumont, fifth-grade girls.

Lisle Lions travel basketball is a competitive program offered through the Lisle Park District for boys and girls in fifth through eighth grades. Open tryouts are usually held in September, when the coaches select players based on talent, sportsmanship and attitude.
