Petting zoo part of fight against global poverty

Elmhurst College's Spiritual Life Council will host a petting zoo on campus to raise awareness about fighting global poverty.

The petting zoo will take place from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 30, weather permitting, outside the Schaible Science Center on campus, 190 Prospect Ave., Elmhurst. The event is free.

The Spiritual Life Council, a student group at Elmhurst College, is sponsoring the petting zoo to support the work of Heifer International, a nonprofit organization that empowers families to turn hunger and poverty into hope and prosperity.

The goal of every Heifer project is to help families achieve self-reliance by providing them with the tools they need to sustain themselves.

Donations to Heifer International will be accepted. For more information about this event or Heifer International, contact (630) 617-3025 or elmhurstcslc@gmail.com.
