CLC hosts Cinco de Mayo in Waukegan

College of Lake County's Lakeshore campus in downtown Waukegan will offer fun and entertainment for a Cinco de Mayo celebration Tuesday, May 5. Scheduled to be outdoors from noon to 2 p.m. at Genesee Street and Madison Avenue, the bash will feature music from disc jockey David Olivares and a mariachi band from Cook Magnet School in Waukegan, plus Cinco de Mayo stories. All are invited to the free celebration, which will offer a chance to learn about programs and services available at Lakeshore Campus, including course offerings for summer session and fall semester. Cinco de Mayo commemorates the victory of the Mexicans over the French army at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
