May 8: World-class pop jazz singer and pianist Carol Welsman will debut “CARma,” a musical tribute to the history of the American automobile, at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. One of the yearlong Concours Series of special events presented by the Concours d'Elegance of Chicago, the event benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities. July 1: Crusin' Antioch takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 1. Vehicles desiring to cruise to the final downtown location can assemble at Wal-Mart east parking lot, Route 173 and Deep Lake Road, between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Cruise will proceed north on Deep Lake Road to Depot Street, west on Depot Street to downtown Antioch. Reserved parking for participants will be along both sides of Main Street in downtown. This is a rain or shine event. Aug. 23: The Geneva Concours d'Elegance will celebrate the Art of the Automobile, featuring automobiles that were orphaned when their manufacturers went out of business, Jaguars and police cars. Also, a celebration of the 60th anniversary of Road America in Elkhart, Wisconsin, featuring race cars built in 1955 or earlier. More than 175 automobiles compete for the coveted “Benz” award.
