Slota's sharp as Lakes shuts out Warren

Chase Slota allowed just 2 singles, striking out five and walking one in a 6-inning victory as Lakes topped Warren 5-0 on Friday in a North Suburban Conference divisional baseball crossover.

Ben Milewski, Liam Fitzpatrick, Justin Blasinski and Brett Buchholz came up with 2 hits apiece for the Eagles (10-5-1).

Ryan Davila had both hits for Warren (13-7) and Christian Caban pitched 3 scoreless relief innings.

Hampshire 10, Grayslake North 4: George Deligiannis and Jake Damore had 2 hits apiece, and Merrick Gentile doubled and drove in 2 runs but the host Knights couldn't overcome a 5-run second inning by the visiting Whip-Purs in nonconference play.

Brendan Taskovic allowed 9 runs in 5⅓ innings but only 3 of them were earned as Grayslake North (5-12) committed 6 errors.

Libertyville 14, Grant 6: Jake Vogt finished 4-for-5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored as the visiting Wildcats produced 10 runs over the final 2 innings in a North Suburban crossover contest.

Riley Lees drove in 3 runs, Mitchell Townsend and Ryan Jackson had 3 hits each and Ben Manski and Chase Patterson both had 2 for Libertyville (10-7).

Jack Shanahan allowed 2 earned runs in 6 innings to earn a victory.

Grant's Eddie Kusiak went 3-for-4 and drove in a run, Blain Kugel was 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI and James Pendley finished 2-for-4.

Lake Zurich 7, Antioch 2 (5 inn.): Sam Zoibi earned the decision as the Bears limited host Antioch to 4 hits in an NSC crossover. Cam Boyle and Nick Sanders had doubles for Lake Zurich (9-12), as did Austin Marsiglio and Ben Gutke for Antioch (4-12).
