Word War II Buff? Love Big Band Music?

Local singing group, The Park Ridge Chorale, will present, The Greatest Hits of the Greatest Generation, marking the 70th anniversary of World War II, on Saturday, April 25, 7 p.m., St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 205 N. Prospect, Park Ridge.

"We are very excited to be presenting some of the most beloved music of the World War II/Big Band Era," said Ed Zelnis, director of the chorale. "We are inviting local WW II veterans to attend and will acknowledge them that evening as well. This is powerful, nostalgic music."

Favorites to be performed range from, the Andrews Sisters and Glenn Miller, to Over There and That Old Black Magic.

"The group is so energized about this concert," said Guy Huff, president of the chorale. "We are looking forward to performing some of the most beloved music of our time."

Historical narration throughout the performance will highlight individual veteran's stories as well.
