Woodworking club demonstrates its artistry in Cantigny show

Artistry in Wood, a woodcarving exhibition and sale by North Suburban Carvers this weekend at Cantigny Park, features carvings, turnings, wood burning art and more.

The show runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 26, inside the Visitors Center at Cantigny Park, 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton. Admission is free with paid parking.

The show features many of the Midwest's finest woodcarvers representing a variety of techniques and styles. Woodcarvings, turnings, wood burning art, hand-carved figurines and other items will be exhibited, with many pieces for sale.

This is the fifth year for Artistry in Wood at Cantigny. Visitors can enjoy live demonstrations and opportunities to interact with the artists, who are members of North Suburban Carvers.

In addition, the club invites all attending military veterans to enter a free raffle for a chance to win one of several handcrafted eagle-head presentation canes.

Established in 1979, North Suburban Carvers is based in Bensenville and has about 150 members. For information about the club, visit northsuburbancarvers.org.
