Cougars get belted by LumberKings

The Kane County Cougars fell 7-1 to the Clinton LumberKings on Thursday at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in Geneva.

After starter and winning pitcher Lukas Schiraldi (1-1) of the LumberKings (7-8) worked 4 hitless innings facing one over the minimum. Stryker Trahan hit his third homer of the season for the Cougars (5-10).

Markus Solbach (1-1) took the loss, working 6⅓ innings and allowing 6 runs, 4 earned.

The Cougars hit the road for a six-game road trip beginning today at 6:20 p.m. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa when Brent Jones (0-2, 5.60 ERA) starts against the Kernels' Michael Cederoth (0-1, 4.50).
