AAUW Naperville Area honors Stephanie Penick as Woman of the Year

AAUW Naperville-Area Branch proudly announces Stephanie Penick, publisher of Positively Naperville, as its 2015 Woman of the Year. Originally from Lafayette, Indiana, she is the mother of three with a bachelor's degree in communications. Her career path has included advertising, small-business ownership, book-writing (her own Creative Cakes was published by Random House in 1978) and anchoring the "Around Naperville" column for the Daily Herald. Her passion for promoting local businesses and news about our community led to her launching the monthly publication Positively Naperville in 2001. An independent, innovative publication, Positively Naperville informs our community about upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, fund-raisers, current news and Naperville's rich history.It is complimented by an event-focused website and supported by a dedicated group of sponsors, columnists, designers, photographers and readers. Having brought its website into the digital age, Positively Naperville is now tagged as the "Printed Monthly-Digital Daily." Stephanie's exceptional level of leadership and commitment to Naperville through her work on Positively Naperville has made an extraordinary impact on our community. AAUW is proud to recognize her as our 2015 Woman of the Year.
