Fox Lake woman accused of possession of crack cocaine pleads not guilty

A Fox Lake resident charged with possession of crack cocaine has pleaded not guilty in Lake County court, authorities said.

Jordyn A. Anderson, 20, of the 0 to 100 block of Maude Avenue, pleaded not guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, Assistant State's Attorney Jim Newman said Wednesday.

If found guilty of the most serious charge, she could be sentenced to 6 to 30 years in prison, Newman said.

Anderson and Xavier J. Thomas, 23, of Fox Lake, were arrested and charged after a search warrant was executed on their residence by members of the Antioch, Fox Lake and Lake Villa police departments at 7 a.m. on March 18.

Authorities said police seized 34 individually wrapped plastic bags of crack cocaine ready for sale with a combined weight of 19.6 grams, 20 pills of Norco, one pill of Alprazolam, and $3,340.88 in cash.

The street value of the crack cocaine was $2,000, authorities said.

Thomas is held in Lake County jail on $75,000 bail, while Anderson remains in jail on $100,000 bail.

Anderson is due back in court May 6, while Thomas is up for arraignment April 26.
