CLC professors receive 2014-15 teaching excellence awards

College of Lake County professors Amy Curry (mathematics) and Patrick Stegman (accounting) have received the 2014-15 Teaching Excellence Award from the Austin, Texas-based, National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development.

Stegman and Curry, who were nominated by other CLC faculty and deans, were selected from a pool of applicants by a committee consisting of a faculty representative from each CLC academic division.

Chosen for excellence in teaching and service, Stegman and Curry will accept their awards at the NISOD conference, which will be May 23-26 in Austin.

Curry, who has been teaching at CLC full time since 2003, holds a B.S. from Texas Christian University and two M.S. degrees from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Stegman, who began teaching full time at CLC in 2008, received a B.A. from Indiana University and a B.S. from the University of Puget Sound. He also holds an M.B.A. from Southern Illinois University and an M.S. from Golden Gate University.

Since its inception in 1978, NISOD has emphasized the importance of teaching and leadership excellence in institutions of higher education.
