Family fun awaits at Extreme Block Party in Vernon Hills

The fifth annual Multi-Chamber Extreme Block Party Consumer Expo and Taste will be from 10 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25, indoors at the Vernon Hills High School Fieldhouse, 145 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills. The Extreme Block Party features:

• More than 100 local vendors, including home improvement, health/wellness, fitness, automotive, financial/insurance, entertainment venues, community groups and others, along with free food and entertainment.

• Food samples from local popular eateries such as Chick-fil-A, Corner Bakery Café in Vernon Hills, Karma, Wapaghettis Pizza, Gail's Brownies and others.

• Dave Dinaso's Traveling World of Reptiles Show at noon.

• Chicago Meteorologist Mike Caplan from 1-3 p.m.

• Mini-Golf sponsored by Kristof's Entertainment Center.

• Engineering for Kids and face-painting sponsored by Vernon Hills High School.

• Enter to win a $500 gift certificate from Steinhafels Furniture.

• Search for unclaimed property or cash with Illinois Cash Dash.

• Raffles, giveaways, prizes, product demos, show specials, and family fun.

• Parking and admission are free.

"We encourage area families to come out and celebrate spring at the expo," said GLMV Executive Director Ray Mullen. "You'll discover the local business community, shop and enjoy local food and entertainment, all under one roof."

Vendor space is now available for businesses looking to reach consumers: cost is $200 for members/$400 for nonmembers or $470, including chamber membership, for new members.
