Perdue: Not much else the Bucks can do

Q: What sort of changes do you expect from Milwaukee in Game 2?

A: Honestly, I don't know what they can do different defensively. They can try to slow the guards down and let Pau Gasol score, but they've lost to the Bulls that way as well. What they've been doing, doubling Pau in the post, probably gives them the best opportunity to win the game. The main thing they've got to do is limit the penetration. On Saturday, Derrick Rose got to the hoop, Jimmy Butler got to the hoop.

Not only were the Bucks doubling the post, but they were extending their defense out, which allowed the Bulls guards, once they got by the initial line of defense, they were getting to the basket. And uncontested, more times than not, because the help was late. So I would imagine the Bucks will address the issue of getting the help there sooner and try to contest more shots at the rim.

Q: With the Bucks crowding the paint, is it vital for the Bulls to shoot well from 3-point range?

A: I don't think it's necessary to shoot the 3 well. What I don't like is the Bulls had 33 attempts in Game 1. In my opinion, that's too many. I understand the Bucks have some length, but I still think you've got to attack the basket. That's why Derrick was so effective. He scored 10 points in the second quarter by attacking the basket. I thought Tom Thibodeau did a great job with Derrick taking him out early and letting him regroup, because he had a lot of nervous energy. Then when he went back in the game, he exploded.

Q: What can the Bulls do better in Game 2?

A: I still think they need to continue to work on their screen-roll defense. It was a little better Saturday, but I think that's where they're most susceptible - teams running that screen-roll continually, especially with Michael Carter-Williams. I will say this: Even though Carter-Williams scored a few points early when they were trying to post him up, I thought Derrick did a nice job guarding him. Derrick didn't give ground, give ground until giving up a layup. I thought he was working pretty hard.

Q: Do you think the Bulls are motivated to end this series quickly?

A: I understand the chances of Milwaukee actually winning this series are slim to none, because Chicago's just that much better. Both teams know this. When you're playing a team you're that much better than, it can be tough to keep your focus and keep yourself motivated. But the Bulls also have to remember, this isn't just about the Milwaukee series. They're playing Cleveland in the next round and the Cavs are playing really well.

So it's not just about playing Milwaukee, it's about getting yourself prepared for the next round and getting better. I thought the Bulls' defense was a little questionable when both teams had over 50 points by halftime. Things changed in the second half, but I would like to see the Bulls play with a little more intensity on the defensive end throughout the whole game. That would send a message not only to the Bucks, but also send a message to Cleveland and whoever else they may play down the line about how seriously they're going take these playoffs.
