Sullivan saves St. Francis victory

St. Francis 2, Marmion 1:

Spartans (7-7) reliever Jason Sullivan stranded the game-tying run at third base with a strikeout to notch the save for winning pitcher Michael O'Keefe. Sullivan's 2-run homer in the first inning proved to be the winning hit. Nick Dama went 2-for-2.

Benet 3, Marian Catholic 2:

Danny Sobolewski's bases-loaded single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh drove in Mike Dunn with the game-winning run to give the Redwings (10-4, 3-0) the East Suburban Catholic Conference victory. Winning pitcher Conor Hayes struck out six and walked none in a 3-hitter.

Wheaton Academy 5, Glenbard South 0:

Jake Lindstedt pitched a 3-hit shutout for the Warriors (11-3, 5-1) in their Metro Suburban Conference victory. Chris Johnson and Noah Ritchie drove in 2 runs apiece. Bryce Sandberg added 2 hits.

Glenbard North 11, Wheaton North 1:

A 6-run fifth inning broke open the six-inning DuPage Valley Conference game for the Panthers (10-4, 4-0). Eric Orze improved to 5-0 after striking out seven and walking none. Luke Greenberg went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI. Zach Heck and John Bosco had 2 hits while Matt Michalak drove in 2 runs.

WW South 6, Lake Park 2:

Chris Simpson struck out 13 and walked none in the DuPage Valley Conference win for the Tigers (5-9, 4-0), who scored 3 runs in the first and third inning. Eric Giltz and Justin Kelly went 2-for-3 while Ben Flores had 2 RBI.

Addison Trail 3, Leyden 0:

Nick Villasenor pitched a 6-hitter with 5 strikeouts as the Blazers (3-12, 1-8) salvaged the third game of the West Suburban Gold series. Eric Gilliam went 2-for-3 with a double while Jaime Valdez also had 2 hits.

Downers South 4, Willowbrook 3:

The Mustangs (11-2, 6-0) swept in the West Suburban Gold by scoring lone runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth inning. Joey Engel went 3-for-4 with a triple in support of winning pitcher Zach Jones, who struck out eight and walked none. Trey Jones had 2 hits for Willowbrook (11-6, 6-3).

York 10, Lyons Twp. 4:

The Dukes (3-12, 2-4) took two of three from the Lions as Sam Craggs went 4-for-4 with 2 RBI and winning pitcher Kyle Coughlin went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI. Mike Homan and Phil Schlitter, who drove in 2 runs, had 2 hits apiece.
