Lake Park wins slugfest

In a softball game featuring 6 home runs, Lake Park withstood Naperville North's 5-run sixth inning to win the DuPage Valley Conference contest 11-8 in Roselle.

Lake Park's Monica Williams slugged 2 home runs, doubled and drove in 5 runs. Marissa Catalano added another homer. Naperville North countered with 2 home runs by Dani Biesiada and 1 apiece by Rachel Aiardo and Janelle Honaker. Fourteen of the game's 22 hits went for extra bases.

Fenton 9, Chicago Christian 5:

Fenton senior pitcher Dana Fritz had another big day for the Bison in the Metro Suburban Conference win in Bensenville. She allowed only 3 hits while hitting a double and a triple. Sophomore Jenna Geraci cracked a home run for Fenton.

Wheaton Academy 12, Ridgewood 2:

Wheaton Academy pitcher Andi Pivaronas (4-3) enjoyed much offensive support in the Metro Suburban Conference victory. Jess Bosse, Madison Ebeling and Julie Palmer each collected 3 hits, with Bosse hitting a triple and a home run and driving in 4 runs. Angie Graff went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI to help Wheaton Academy move to 5-3. Pivaronas saw a scoreless streak against her end at 27 innings.
