Boys volleyball

Vernon Hills d. Leyden: Alon Polischuk rolled up 15 digs to lead Vernon Hills to a 25-23, 25-20 win over Leyden. Dylan DeBoer led the offense with 8 kills. He also had 6 digs. Lemuel Turner added 5 kills while DeBoer and Jared Bennett added 9 and 6 assists, respectively. Vernon Hills improves to 11-4 on the season.

Lake Zurich d. Warren: Lake Zurich recovered from a slow start and got a 21-25, 25-23, 25-15 win over Warren. Matt Carmody led the way with 12 kills while Nate Amos added 7 kills. Setter Jeff Carmody had 29 assists.

Hersey d. Carmel: Carmel got out to a good start, but Hersey eventually pulled out a 23-25, 25-13, 25-11 win.

Zion-Benton d. Stevenson: Stevenson dropped to 8-7 on the season (2-1 North Suburban Conference) with a 25-23, 25-12 loss to Zion-Benton. Grant Maleski topped Stevenson with 9 kills while setter Eric Zalewski had 13 assists and 4 digs.
