Join a 'Pitch and Catch' session April 28 at 25N Coworking

Some members of 25N Coworking are taking advantage of one of their more unusual member benefits. They're sharing their idea for a new business or growth opportunity with fellow members and the public and receiving constructive feedback.

Because of the success of the first "Pitch and Catch" in March, a second session takes place on-site from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at 25 N. Third St., Geneva. Beginning in May, "Pitch and Catch" events will take place monthly on the third Tuesday, from 4 to 6 p.m. Only 25N Coworking members are eligible to pitch their idea, but anyone is welcome to be a catcher.

"Pitcher" Scott Rolf is in the film industry and currently serves as the executive director of the Geneva Film Festival. Growing a hobby into a business was the impetus behind his pitch for a craft brewing company, however. According to Rolf, the session produced good ideas for him and his partner.

"I thought it might be premature for me to speak about RolfenKutz Brewing Co., but it turns out the experience provided great insight," said Rolf. "I made several connections that will most likely help speed up the process.

"I realized that an idea can only be an idea for so long," he continued. "It ended up being a very beneficial experience."

Meagan Schoenrock, the community manager, says "Pitch and Catch" is one of several monthly events open to the public. April's public events are:

• Free Friday on Friday, April 17, when potential members can "try it before they buy it" and work free of charge. Free Fridays take place on the third Friday of each month.

• Geneva Coworking Meetup takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23. Nobel House will host a cash bar. Learn more and/or sign up online at meetup.com/Geneva-Coworking-Meetup/events.

• "Pitch and Catch" from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 28.
