River Bandits hand Cougars fourth straight loss

QUAD CITITES — For the second time this season, the Kane County Cougars (3-8) have suffered a four-game losing streak after a 7-2 loss to the first-place Quad Cities River Bandits (7-2) at Modern Woodmen Park.

The Cougars (3-8) picked up 2 runs in the first with two outs when Grant Heyman tripled home Marty Herum and scored on a passed ball. But the Cougars stranded five runners and were 0-for-6 with men in scoring position.

Cougars starter Brent Jones suffered his second loss without a win.

The series wraps up today at 7 p.m. when Cougars' left-hander Jared Miller (1-1, 5.00 ERA) takes the mound against Kevin Comer (2-0, 2.00).
