Six students from District 94 qualify to compete in Future Business Leaders nationals

Six students from Community High School District 94 in West Chicago who are members of Future Business Leaders of America qualified to compete in nationals at the annual State Leadership Conference in Springfield.

Nineteen District 94 students participated in the conference that drew more than 1,500 competitors from 90 high schools.

District 94 students who placed at the conference are:

• Mike Sawicki, freshman, Carol Stream, First Place, Introduction to Business Communication;

• Alyssa Lenning, senior, West Chicago, First Place, Word Processing;

• Ethan Cuka, junior, West Chicago, First Place, Computer Game and Simulation;

• Garrett Hosticka, sophomore, West Chicago, Second Place, Personal Finance;

• Josh Guercio, junior, Carol Stream, and Jacob Urban, senior, West Chicago, Second Place, Marketing;

• Kyle G. Olson, junior, West Chicago, Fourth Place, Computer Applications;

• Laura Perez, senior, West Chicago, Fifth Place, Accounting II;

• Bridget Lopez, senior, West Chicago, Fifth Place, Health Care Administration;

• Jake Gillespie, senior, Winfield, Fifth Place, Economics;

• Roberto Bejarano, senior, West Chicago, and Mike Miller, senior, Carol Stream, Sixth Place, Management Decision Making; and

• Saul Vargas, senior, West Chicago, 10th Place, Client Services.

Mike Sawicki, Alyssa Lenning, Ethan Cuka, Garrett Hosticka, Josh Guercio and Jacob Urban have qualified to participate at the FBLA National Conference June 29 to July 2 in Chicago.

Cameron Zayia and Jacob Urban qualified in November to compete in FBLA LifeSmarts at the National Conference. Robert Bejarano will be taking Jacob Urban's place for this event.
