Bid on travel, concerts packages at hospice event

Tickets are on sale now for the "Garden Party," Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice's annual fundraising event.

It will be held on Friday, May 15, at the Q Center, off Route 25 in St. Charles.

The event will feature a fashion show, produced by Jeans and a Cute Top Shop, highlighting spring fashions to fit various body types and budgets.

In addition, the most popular feature of Garden Party, the expansive raffle showcases, will abound.

There are 21 showcases in all, including the popular "Imagine the Possibilities" and "Patio Pleasures," as well as new showcases like "Destination Unknown" and "It's All About Me."

A gourmet lunch will be served, and the popular Aurora firemen will conduct a live auction, with items including:

• Four pit passes to a NASCAR Sprint Cup race and a meet-and-greet with Matt Kenseth

• A week stay at the Grande Luxxe in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico

• An autographed Luke Bryan guitar

• Five tickets to a New Kids on the Block concert plus a special meet-and-greet with the band

• A week stay in a two-bedroom condo on Oyster Bay Beach in St. Maarten

• Eight Taylor Swift tickets the July concert at Soldier Field

• You can record your own album: a recording and professional mixing of six of your favorite songs plus the design of your own album cover.

Tickets for $68 each may be purchased online at www.fvvh.org, by phone at (630) 232-2233, or at the office, 200 Whitfield Drive, Geneva.

Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted in person; credit cards only by phone and online.

A limited number of tickets will be sold.

The "Garden Party" raises nearly one-third of Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice's annual budget, allowing the agency to continue to offer support for those with life-threatening illnesses and those who have lost loved ones in Kane and Kendall counties and parts of DuPage, Cook and McHenry counties. All of its services are offered free and Spanish interpretation is available. For more information, call (630) 232-2233, or visit www.fvvh.org.
