Saxons win No. 10

Schaumburg joined Barrington, Elk Grove and Fremd as Mid-Suburban League softball teams to reach 10 victories this spring as the Saxons topped visiting Glenbard North 11-1 in six innings on Thursday.

Senior pitcher Shannon Felde (4-1) notched the nonconference win that raised the Saxons record to 10-1 heading into today's Mid-Suburban League crossover contest with Wheeling.

Senior Elaine Walker (3-for-5) belted 2 homers to help spark the winners offense along with Felde (3-for-4, homer run), junior Paige Alt (4-for-4, RBI) and junior Christina Candotti (2-for-4, 2 RBI).

Sophomore Alex Cook (RBI) and senior Roxy Kakareka (RBI) also had hits for Schaumburg.

Felde struck out nine while tossing a 4-hitter.

Fremd 8, Lake Park 3: Hailey Goodwin raised her record to 3-1 as the Vikings improved to 12-1 with the nonconference win in Roselle.

Sophomores Reagan Schneider and Becca Uhrich doubled for the Vikings and coach Jim Weaver, who notched career win No. 355.

Loyola 7, Hersey 2: Hannah Graff, Payton Anderskow (double) and Remy Gerew each went 2-for 4 for the Huskies (4-8) in the nonconference game in Arlington Heights.
