Hoffman Estates park dedication May 16

The Hoffman Estates community is invited to attend a new event, Plant Your Park, hosted by the village and park district from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16 at Highpoint Park, 1704 Glen Lake Road.

The park will be renamed Joseph L. Fabbrini Park, after one of the founding park district commissioners, at a dedication ceremony at 10:30 a.m. There will be 26 trees planted, as a result of an Eco Skies grant from the United Airlines Foundation.

Alexian Brothers Health System will concurrently hold its 11th Annual Walk and Community Play-date for Postpartum Depression Prevention and Awareness at the park. Sign-in starts at 9 a.m., and the event kicks off at 10 a.m. with a scenic walk around the park. Strollers are welcome.
