Library Invites Children to Storytime and Adventure Theater

Sensory Storytime and Adventure Theater are coming in May to the Schaumburg Township District Library (STDL), 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. Both of these children's programs are free.

Sensory Storytime, scheduled from 10-11 a.m. in the library's Program and Craft rooms, is geared toward special needs children, ages 3-6, and their families. Specialists from Lekotek will present stories, songs, hands-on activities and a craft. Each child must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver. Registration is required. Call (847) 923-3439 to register. Participants must be STDL cardholders.

An Adventure Theater performance, for ages 4 and up, will be held from 2-3 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, in the Rasmussen Room on the library's second floor. Californian Kenn Adams will present "Episode I: Adventure in Space!" Children are invited to be a part of this interactive theatrical adventure where audience members make sound effects, help create the story and leap on stage to play the main characters. This action-packed afternoon is sure to spark creativity and laughter in everyone, especially children who love acting. Free limited tickets will be distributed in the kidsZone at 1:40 p.m.
