'CEO Unplugged' offers look at Ian Lamp of Lamp Inc.

Find out how Ian Lamp, vice president of marketing and sales of Lamp Inc. in Elgin, values the legacy of this fourth generational family business at the next Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce popular series, "CEO Unplugged," sponsored by the Grand Victoria Casino.

The luncheon will be held on Wednesday, May 6, in the Fox River Room at the Grand Victoria Casino pavilion, 250 S. Grove Ave., second floor, Elgin. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with the luncheon at noon. Questions and networking to follow.

Ian Lamp began his career with Lamp Inc. in 1983 as an estimator and project manager and is currently vice president of marketing and sales. Ian has a bachelor degree in construction engineering from Iowa State University. He has attended Lorman Education Services classes, the Falls Management Institute, and Jack Miller Seminars. His daily responsibilities include estimating projects, sales presentations and proposals, owner negotiations, coordinating estimating assignments, and marketing.

Outside of the office, Ian is active as chairman of the Elgin Community College Foundation, along with board involvement in Community Unit District 300 Education Foundation, Fox Valley Associated General Contractors secretary/treasurer, Elgin Country Club director, past president of the Dundee Township Rotary Club, and the Kane County Economic Development Advisory Board chairman. He is a member of the Associated General Contractors of America, the Construction Management Association of America, the Illinois Association of School Business Officials, and the Illinois Parks and Recreation Center.

The luncheon series is led by members of the Elgin Area Chamber special events committee: chair Pat Szpekowski, PmS advertising, inc./PR Strategies, and Kelly Brown, Drapery Connection; Toni Diones, Winergy; Yvonne Irving, KCT Credit Union; Tena Robotham, Judson University, and Michael Storey, Beckatt Solutions.
