How Hawks fared vs. Nashville this season
Here's a quick look back at the four times the Blackhawks and Predators met this season:
Oct. 18 at the United Center: Hawks 2, Predators 1 (OT)
What happened: In what was perhaps the biggest highlight of the season, Jonathan Toews stripped Roman Josi of the puck and scored a short-handed goal by banging in his own rebound 3:26 into overtime. The Blackhawks outshot Nashville 37-20 and Johnny Oduya scored the first of his 2 goals of the season.
Oct. 23 at Bridgestone Arena: Predators 3, Hawks 2
What happened: Nashville improved to 5-0-2 behind a natural hat trick from James Neal. Neal had 8 goals after 14 games but managed just 15 more the rest of the way (53 games).
Dec. 6 at Bridgestone Arena: Hawks 3, Predators 1
What happened: Marian Hossa scored twice as the Hawks won their sixth straight and snapped Nashville's seven-game home winning streak in the process. Scott Darling made 32 saves.
Dec. 29 at the United Center: Hawks 5, Predators 4 (SO)
What happened: The Blackhawks trailed 3-0 before Brad Richards, Andrew Shaw and Marian Hossa scored in a span of 7:10 to knot things up. Bryan Bickell sent the game to overtime after Nashville had regained the lead, and Jonathan Toews provided the game-winner in the shootout.
