Dylan DeBoer and Lem Turner slammed 7 and 6 kills, respectively, as Vernon Hills' boys volleyball team defeated visiting Lakes 25-21, 25-18 in North Suburban Conference action Wednesday night.

Vernon Hills (9-4, 2-0) also received 5 kills, 2 blocks and 13 assists from outside hitter/setter Jared Bennett and 4 kills from Ian Thoren. Turner also had 3 blocks, while DeBoer and Quinn Fraboni each served 2 aces. Cory Levin dished out 12 assists, and Alon Polischuk recorded 8 digs.

For Lakes, Dalton Solbrig had 5 kills and 3 aces. Avery Brodde chipped in 3 kills and 2 blocks, and Colton Jewell lofted 11 assists. The Eagles also got 3 kills and 4 digs from Nick Halberg.

Warren d. Antioch: Tyler Barnett's 5 kills and Zach Schultz's four led the Blue Devils to a 25-13, 25-9 win in NSC action.

Warren (2-11, 1-1) also got 10 digs from Ruben Torres and 16 assists from Tony Amrozowicz.

Stevenson d. North Chicago: The Patriots won the NSC match 25-9, 25-17, receiving 4 kills apiece from Jesse Kesner and Grant Maleski.

Eric Zalewski had 15 assists for Stevenson (6-3, 2-0). Zalewski and Maleski each served 3 aces.

Lake Forest d. Lake Zurich: The Scouts rallied for the 22-25, 26-24, 25-19 win in an NSC match.

Lake Zurich (2-5, 0-2) received 8 kills apiece from Nate Amos and Nick Meyer. Nic Angelini and Austin Keller each had 6 kills for the Bears. Jeff Carmody dished out 33 assists, Tommy Orchard delivered 2 aces and Andrew Gilbertson tallied 5 kills for Lake Zurich.
