Girls soccer: Fox Valley roundup Tuesday, April 14

Huntley 2, Warren 1: In the PepsiCo Showdown, the Red Raiders (6-1) bounced back from Saturday's loss with Brenna Keegan's first varsity goal and Deanna Hecht also scoring, both goals coming in the first half. Alyssa Kaufman had 2 assists and keepers Paige Renkosik (6 saves) and Abbey Brown (3 saves) split time in net.

Burlington Central 3, Plainfield East 1: Central improved its record to 8-1 overall with its fourth-straight win in a PepsiCo Showdown matchup. Julia Petsche led the way with 1 goal and 1 assist while Jordan King tallied her 20th goal of the season. Elizabeth Gousios had 1 assist and while the Rockets benefited from an own goal. Keepers Abbi Ciganek (5 saves) and Erin Rafferty (3 saves) split time in net to preserve the win.

CL South 2, Glenbard East 0: Second half goals by Jess Schoenfeldt and Kimmy Sulikowski helped the Gators (6-2-1) to a PepsiCo Showdown win. Jenna Ross had 1 assist and goalie Jaclyn Przybylski made 3 saves in net as CLS preserved the victory with a man short (red card) in the final 13 minutes.

Larkin 3, Leyden 1: The Royals (3-5-1) upped their win streak to 2 with a PepsiCo Showdown win. Anna Leon totaled 1 goal and 1 assist while Sam Moreno and Yoselin Sanchez knocked in a goal each. Stephanie Nunez had 1 assist and keeper Bernice Gomez made 5 saves.

Dundee-Crown 5, Woodstock 1: The Chargers (2-5) snapped a 3-game losing streak in their Fox Valley Conference crossover win over the Blue Streaks. Jenny Letheby finished with 2 goals while Payton De Luga and Alyssa Moreno (1 assist) each added 1. D-C also benefited from an own goal in the 31st minute and goalkeeper Isabel Miranda made 4 saves.

Harvest Christian 7, Keith Country Day 2: Freshman Amanda Moore busted loose for 5 goals and 1 assist, including 4 in the first half of the Lions' Northeastern Conference win. Moore has accounted for 8 goals in the last 2 games, and both Ellie Burzlaff (1 goal, 2 assist) and Morgan Lockwood (goal) added to the scoring list. Harvest (3-1) goalie Isamer Garcia also made 4 saves in net.

Downers Grove North 3, Bartlett 1: Mariela Alba's goal in the 38th minute wasn't enough for the Hawks (5-4-1) in an nonconference loss at Millennium Field. Jamie Kenna tallied 1 assist and splitting time in net were Tessa Jatczak (3 saves) and Mariah Martinez (6 saves).
