Girls soccer: Lake County roundup

Jenna Pecorini scored a hat trick and Meghan Murray added a pair of goals, as Grant's girls soccer team blanked Round Lake 7-0 in North Suburban Prairie Division action Tuesday night.

Leah Nehila and Marissa Allen also scored for the Bulldogs. Brett Aichholzer and Brianne Barnes had 2 assists each, while Murray and Savanah Barnes added 1 assist each. Grant goalie Lexi Werve made 2 save for the shutout.

Antioch 9, North Chicago 0: Anna McIlhaney scored twice for the Sequoits in their North Suburban Prairie opener, while keeper Monica Wilhelm and her defense earned the clean sheet.

Antioch (3-3-1) also got goals from Tessa Furlong, Ella Roberts, Haley Capek, Courtney Coleman, Megan Helguson, Mikayla Abbeduto and Morgan Keefer. Rachel Moore, Abbeduto, Helguson, Danielle Bae and Gracie Bouker had assists.

Vernon Hills 2, Highland Park 0: In a PepsiCo Showdown match, Kaitlyn Burrows and Amy Andrea scored in the first half for the host Cougars. Kristen Guglielmi assisted on both tallies.

Vernon Hills improved to 3-5.

Lake Zurich 3, Metea Valley 0: In a PepsiCo Showdown game at Metea Valley, the Bears got goals from Madeline Blasko, Danielle Ufheil and Nicole Rasiarmos.

Maggie Tuckey, Lexi Miranda and Ufheil had assists, as Lake Zurich improved to 6-2-1. Bears keeper Elly Daleske made 7 saves in earning the shutout.

Huntley 2, Warren 1: Alliyah Parker scored off an assist from Valentina Rodriguez for the Blue Devils' lone goal in the PepsiCo Showdown game.

Warren fell to 2-3-1.
