Lincolnshire offers medication disposal box

The Lincolnshire Police Department now offers a new drug disposal collection box where village residents can safely dispose of expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications at any time of the year. The collection box is in the lobby of the police department and can be accessed during regular weekday business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Acceptible items include prescription medications and all over-the-counter medications, pet medications, vitamins and supplements, medicated ointments and lotions, liquid medications in leakproof containers and homeopathic remedies. Nonacceptible items include needles, thermometers, IV bags, personal care items, infectious waste, empty containers and hydrogen peroxide.
