Local magician Mark Presley wins big in Las Vegas

Fox River Grove's own Mark Presley went to Vegas to study at the McBride Magic & Mystery School, operated by Las Vegas magic headliner Jeff McBride and his teacher, Eugene Burger. While in Vegas, Mark Presley not only got to work with McBride and Burger, but also met magic legend David Copperfield, and performed his favorite trick the aces at the Platinum Casino on the 17th floor with the Strip as a back drop.

"I guess you could say I've performed on the Strip in Las Vegas, now! If that's not a win, I don't know what is!," grinned Mark Presley.

Presley is a professional magician with over 30 years experience. Performing everything form birthday parties to elaborate illusion shows, he has wowed audiences of all ages. Mark has also been the resident magician at Barnaby's Family Inn in Arlington Heights for over 20 years, with his masterful close-up magic and music it's a recipe for success.

Jeff McBride and Eugene Burger are the founders of the McBride Magic & Mystery School. Both were named among the 100 most influential magicians of the 20th century by magician's trade magazine MAGIC, and have won numerous awards between them. They have been teaching together since 1987, conducting over a dozen class events each year, ranging from their popular masters classes to extended classes, teaching magic to doctors, a yearly seminar on "Magic & Meaning" and more. At least once a year they take the school "on the road", this year to the U.K. and Amsterdam. Former students have won awards at every major convention in the U.S., and even at the international championship known as F.I.S.M.
