Open house to salute Heartland teacher

Parents of current and former students have gathered together to form a committee to organize an event celebrating the impact that Ann Ramsey has had on our children over the many years she has taught in Geneva Unit District 304.

Join in an Appreciation & Recognition Open House from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 15, in the Heartland Elementary School library.

One of the ways to show appreciation is with a video of many of her past and present students. The deadline is approaching for video and photo submissions.

Send in photos of yourself with Ramsey along with a short note that could be included in the video; former students could send pictures of themselves from grade school, as well as a current photo, to show just how big her students have gotten, also with a short note; short videos or "selfies" would be terrific. You could video yourself telling her how much she has meant to you, how she inspired you or how much she will be missed. Do you have a funny story to share? Remind her of it on video.

If you are a colleague, send photos you may have of Ramsey with yourself or other teachers. Any note you want to include with the photo would be included in the video also.

Anyone with pictures or videos from classroom experiences are welcome.

Photo and video submission guidelines are: April 15 deadline; all videos should be taken in landscape orientation, not portrait; all videos should be kept to a maximum of 30 seconds; forward all pictures and videos electronically to DrRamseyRetirementVideo@gmail.com.

Include your name, the school years you were a student of Ramsey's, or the years you worked with her, and which school you attended.

If unable to email the videos or pictures, send photos, memory cards, etc. to Heartland Elementary School - Yearbook Committee, Attn: Nicole Finn, 3300 Heartland Drive, Geneva, IL 60134. If you supply a self-addressed, stamped envelope, the materials will be returned to you.
