Mundelein High School's Future Business Leaders of America had its best results to date at the State Competition, March 27-28, held in Springfield.

Mundelein had 27 national qualifiers, with many students qualifying a second or third time in their high school careers. Daniella Feijoo, the current state secretary, earned three awards at the conference.

"Daniella has achieved a lot as state secretary of Illinois FBLA and the president of Mundelein FBLA," said Advisor Chris Hoster. "But to take home three awards is extremely impressive."

First-place winners were Andrew Hurley in Agribusiness; the team of Darin Chaichitatorn, Daniella Feijoo, and Alexandra Guiritan in Business Plan; and the team of Alana Goodson, McKenzie Theis, and Victoria Willman in Digital Video Production.

Second-place winners were Stephen Ferro in Business Financial Plan; Kaitlyn Watkins in Client Service; and the team of Chris Cygnus, Raphael Rouvinov, and Ricky Cushing in Computer Game and Simulation Programming.

Third-place winners were Natasha Kumar in Introduction to Business Communication; Clark Dumblauskas in Business Law; Alex Espinosa in Computer Applications; the team of Adriana Feijoo and Stephen Wald in Desktop Publishing; the team of Justin Daoey, Kevin Fung, and Michael Ventrella in Global Business; the team of Sahana Belagur, Teju Kanala, and Kyra Tessmann in Marketing; the team of Daniella Feijoo, Stephen Wald, and Sari Sachnoff in Partnership with Business Project; and Ryan Antenore in Introduction to Business.
