Entries sought for Palatine parade, art fair

The Palatine Jaycees are looking for individuals and organizations interested in participating in Palatine's July Fourth Celebration, taking place July 2-5 at Community Park.

"This is the community's celebration and we want everyone involved," said festival co-chairman Joanne Rinaldo.

Among the events in which individuals or organizations can participate are the parade and the Arts & Crafts Fair/Business & Charity Expo.

The parade, which will begin at 11 a.m. July 4, has openings for groups who would like to enter a float or simply march along the route. Entry fees are $50 for charities and organizations and $100 for businesses.

"Applications will be evaluated based on theme representation, entertainment value and past participation in our parade," said Richard Lewis, festival co-chairman.

The Arts & Crafts Fair/Business & Charity Expo will have more than 50 exhibits of pottery, jewelry, photography, sculptures and paintings, as well as booths for businesses and nonprofit organizations. Exhibitors will be assigned a 12' by 12' space on a first-come, first-served basis. An arts & crafts booth will cost $80 for both days. A business expo booth will cost $180 for both days, and a charity expo booth will cost $20.

Applications for all July Fourth events are available on the Jaycee Fourth of July website, www.hometownfest.org.
