BMO Harris Bank, Chicago Blackhawks recognize Youth Hockey Player, Coach and Volunteer of the Month

BMO Harris Bank today announced, in partnership with the Chicago Blackhawks, the recognition of Anthony Loffredo, John Berthiaume, and Wendy Fleming as the BMO Harris Bank Youth Hockey Player, Coach and Volunteer of the Month. Mark Furlong, CEO, BMO Harris Bank, presented the awards to Loffredo, Berthiaume, and Fleming during the on-ice ceremony at the March 27 Blackhawks game.

For the past seven seasons, BMO Harris Bank and the Chicago Blackhawks have teamed up to honor one youth hockey coach and youth hockey player each month for their outstanding achievements both on the ice and in their communities. This is the second year BMO Harris Bank and the Chicago Blackhawks are recognizing one volunteer of the month, awarded for their efforts in giving back to their community. All candidates are nominated by teammates, coaches, friends or family members through the Blackhawks' website and are judged by an amateur hockey committee.

Player of the month Anthony Loffredo is a sophomore at St. Viator High School from Chicago, Illinois. Loffredo plays for the Viator Lions hockey team and has been playing hockey since he was four years old. He made the Varsity team as a sophomore and is the starting goalie for the 2014-15 Varsity team. Loffredo's team won the 2011 State Championship and he played on the 2014 NAHL Future Prospect Team. He has a 3.5 G.P.A. and was named to the 2015 Scholastic Hockey League All-Academic Team. Loffredo participated in several volunteer projects including, packing food at "Feed My Starving Children" and "Catholic Charities." He also volunteered at the Plum Creek Senior Center, and traveled to New Mexico to do mission work on a Navajo Reservation at St. Bonaventure.

Coach of the month John Berthiaume lives in Gurnee, Illinois and works with the Maulers Pee Wee Black hockey team. He first started coaching when his son started playing hockey and wanted to give back to the game he loves. His favorite Blackhawks moment was watching Patrick Kane score the Stanley Cup game winning goal in 2010.

Volunteer of the Month Wendy Fleming resides in Elmhurst, Illinois. Fleming volunteers as a registrar and administrative coordinator for the Fenwick hockey team. She began volunteering when her sons started playing hockey and continued to follow their various teams as they got older. Fleming has participated in several community projects including serving at the "Helping Hand Center" in Countryside, "One for the Kids - The Curve Ball" benefiting Matt and Phil Janowiak, and "4 Paws for Ability" where she helped raise funds to provide a service dog for Sean Kristufek.

BMO Harris Bank congratulates Anthony Loffredo, John Berthiaume and Wendy Fleming on all their accomplishments both on and off the ice.
