Westminster Christian 3, Rockford Christian Life 1: Senior Frank Anguilo threw a no-hitter in this Northeastern Athletic Conference win in Elgin on Monday. Anguilo struck out 15 batters in a 101-pitch outing in which he issued 2 walks. The Warriors trailed 1-0 until the fifth inning when Tyler Mamrot doubled to score Nick Anguilo from second base and Ian Merlak scored thanks to an error on the play. Peter Hahn had 2 of the 8 hits by Westminster Christian (4-4, 2-0)

Streamwood 5, Elgin 3: Reliever Zach Campbell induced a groundball to second with the tying runs aboard in the seventh inning to end a 2-run Elgin rally and this Upstate Eight River contest. Adam Sojda earned the win for the Sabres by holding the Maroons to an unearned run on 5 hits and a walk in 6 innings. He struck out 4. Jr. Alvarez had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs, Tim Crom (RBI) went 2-for-3 and Campbell doubled in a run for Streamwood (2-4, 1-0).

John Nelson went the distance for Elgin (3-6, 1-1). He allowed 5 runs (4 earned) on 6 hits, walked 2 and struck out 5. All 9 hits by the Maroons were singles, including 2 apiece by Eddy Ramos and Scotty Palmer.

South Elgin 8, Glenbard East 1: Senior Max Keough (2-0) threw a 2-hitter to help the Storm improve to 4-0 overall, 1-0 in the Upstate Eight Valley. Keough issued a lone walk and struck out 5. Offensively, the Storm collected 12 hits, led by Kyle Hays (2-4, RBI, 3 R), Danny Asa (1-2, double, RBI, 3 R), Nick Menken (1-2, RBI, 2 R), Joey Roberson (2-3, 2 RBI), Antonio Danesi (2 RBI) and Kevin Barry (1-4, RBI).

Bartlett 9, West Aurora 0: Tripp Paris threw a 1-hitter with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts to lift the Hawks in their Upstate Eight Valley opener. Johnny Johnson went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI, Cory Krolikowski was 2-for-3 with a walk and 3 RBI and Cameron Mays doubled, drove in a run and scored for Bartlett (3-3, 1-0).

West Chicago 4, Larkin 1: Zach Edgar and Jon Lenz each went 2-for-4, but the Royals were held to 6 singles overall by Peyton Seidler, who allowed only 1 unearned run on 6 hits in a complete-game victory in the Upstate Eight River. Will King (1-1) pitched 6 innings for Larkin (2-2, 0-1). The senior yielded 4 earned runs on 7 hits and 2 walks and struck out 8.

Cary-Grove 12, Woodstock 2 (6 inn): Nick Franz scattered 9 hits and a walkover 6 innings while striking out 2, and the offense collected 12 hits in this Fox Valley Conference crossover. Wyatt Mascarella went 2-for-3 with a double and 3 RBI and Jimmy Perkins and Tyler Pennington each finished 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI for Cary-Grove (4-5-2, 2-0).

Jacobs 10, Woodstock North 0 (5 inn.): The Golden Eagles scored 8 runs in the first inning and closed out this Fox Valley Conference crossover with 2 runs in the fifth. Sophomore Mike Addante doubled, walked and drove in 2 runs and Daniel Salomon, Brenden Heiss and Nic Subaric each doubled for Jacobs (11-3, 3-0). Casey Dennison picked up the victory by limiting the Thunder to 2 hits without a walk. He struck out 6 in 5 innings.

Barrington 10, Dundee-Crown 4: Already leading 5-1, the Broncos scored 5 in the bottom of the fourth to take control of this nonconference meeting. Jared Ludwig took the loss for the Chargers, allowing 7 runs (4 earned) on 6 hits and 2 walks. Senior Jason Vincolese ripped a 3-run home run in the seventh inning for Dundee-Crown (7-3), which committed 4 errors.

Grayslake North 9, Huntley 1: The Knights outhit the Red Raiders 7-4 in this Fox Valley Conference crossover. Cameron Reed took the loss for Huntley (1-6, 1-1), allowing 6 runs (4 earned) on 4 hits and 3 walks. He struck out 3. Pinch hitters accounted for all 4 Huntley hits.
