Mix of parties win Round Lake Park board

A mix of candidates from different parties were elected to the Round Lake Park village board Tuesday night.

With all six precincts reporting, unofficial totals showed the three, four-year seats will go to Your Voice Your Choice candidate, incumbent Patricia Williams, who had 340 votes; and members of the opposing slate, Focus, won two seats. Newcomers Cheryl Thomey and Arlene Rogalski, who had 331 and 327 votes respectively.

Newcomer and Focus slate member James Moore had 316 votes, former trustee Robert Seminary had 299, and newcomer Jerry Chirinos had 279, according to the unofficial vote totals.

The race for the one two-year seat on the Round Lake Park village board was won by Focus candidate and incumbent Scott Murar with 378 votes, over Your Voice Your Choice candidate Rosa Patino with 291 votes.

The Your Voice Your Choice slate focused on spurring development and improvement in the business district, and creating a safe place for juveniles to congregate.
