The Rauner approach is no mandate

Well, we got a governor who wants to "reduce our taxes." This will, of course. mean less money for our towns, villages, forest preserves, communities and the needy.

So what will have to happen will be that the money will be found through increased taxes on real estate, services and sales taxes.

Gov. Quinn wanted to tax the wealthy a little more. Gov. Rauner would increase the taxes being paid on the poorest and middle class. This from a guy who makes over $1 million a week.

Well, we've got him for the next four years because only about 35 percent of eligible voters voted.

Actually, not a mandate.
