Barrington 8, Highland Park 4: Barrington came up with a big finish, generating 7 runs in the top of the seventh inning to surpass host Highland Park in nonconference baseball action Monday.
Mitch Pfeiffer and Casey Dodge had 3 hits apiece for Barrington (6-4), and Pfeiffer stole a pair of bases. Jimmy Day had 2 hits for the Broncos.
Nick Marion tossed 3⅓ scoreless innings to earn the victory in relief of Jack Harvey (3⅔ IP, 2 ER).
St. Viator 6, Deerfield 5: The host Lions plated 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, then allowed a solo homer in the seventh but were able to hang on in nonconference play.
Mike Ragauskis went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI and Aaron Tres also drove in 2 runs for the Lions (8-2). Raugaskis drove in the winning run, scoring Tyler Landoch on a single in the sixth.
Kevin Napoleon picked up the victory after tossing 1⅓ innings of relief.
Fremd 5, Crystal Lake Central 1: Jared Swenson allowed only an unearned run over 6 innings with 3 strikeouts and 1 walk to help the visiting Vikings outlast the Tigers in nonconference play.
J.T. Kolderup pitched 1 perfect inning of relief for Fremd, which took control with a 4-run fourth inning.
Mack Rosman went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Vikes (4-3). Cody Patenaude and Tom Austin also doubled and Ethan Hajdukovic had 2 hits as Fremd out-hit Crystal Lake Central 9-3.
Notre Dame 7, Hersey 0: Four Notre Dame pitchers found success in nonconference play, holding the Huskies (1-4-1) to a total of 3 hits.
Thomas Norton, Sam Ferri and Matthew Segovia each had 3 hits as Notre Dame pulled away with a 5-run seventh inning.
Christian Liberty 29, Schaumburg Christian 1: Junior Peter Grob hit for the cycle as the Chargers produced 25 hits, including homers from Tom Keplar and Aiden Miller, as Aaron Cunningham earned a pitching victory in nonconference play.
Maine South 3, Rolling Meadows 0: Sean O'Brien had 2 of the Mustangs' 3 hits in a nonconference loss. Brett Gibson pitched 5 innings for Meadows (1-3), striking out six and allowing no earned runs.
