Round Lake Beach man, Waukegan man shot in Evanston

A Round Lake Beach man and a Waukegan man were shot early Saturday morning while driving through Evanston on their way home from a Chicago nightclub, police said.

Just before 4 a.m., the two victims and two other friends were traveling west on Howard Street near Dodge Avenue when a vehicle pulled up alongside them and fired several shots into the vehicle.

A 22-year-old Round Lake Beach man was struck in the arm and the back and was in good condition. A 23-year-old Waukegan man was struck in the head and groin area and was in serious but stable condition. Neither had life threatening injuries.

Police are asking anyone with information to call (847) 866-5040 or anonymous information can be sent through TEXT-A-TIP by texting to CRIMES (274637) and then EPD TIP with the information.
