Foote, Antioch power past Palatine

Jill Foote homered, doubled and singled to help lead Antioch's softball team to a 16-3 win over Palatine in nonconference action Wednesday.

Foote (2 RBI), Annie Wagner (2 RBI) and Jill Everett (3 RBI) were all 3-for-4 for Antioch (4-1). Everett and Jessica Tyrell (1-for-2) also had doubles. Morgan Yankee and Jessica Pedersen contributed 2 RBI apiece for the Sequoits.

Winning pitcher Stephanie Bonaguidi allowed 2 runs over 5 innings.

Grayslake Central 10, Round Lake 0: Reagen Radke struck out 13 batters in a five-inning complete-game shutout.

Katie Bleim had the Panthers' only hit.

Juliana Frusolone and Lindsay Brust homered and knocked in 2 runs apiece for Grayslake Central. Radke was 3-for-3, while Frusolone and Skyler Long each had 2 hits. Radke and Brandy Heraty (2 RBI) doubled.

Lake Zurich 5, Cary-Grove 3: Sophomore Jessica Puccinelli was 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI for the Bears in their nonconference win.

Lake Zurich received 2 hits apiece from Brittney Pettinger (triple) and Vanessa DiVincenzo (RBI). Katie Malek went the distance in the circle, allowing only 1 earned run and 7 hits, striking out five and walking two.

Carmel 14, Lakes 4: The Corsairs got 3 hits apiece from Jennifer Geisey and Amanda Elert.

Winning pitcher Claire Petrus, Sarah Koesser and Madilyn DeMarco each had 2 hits for Carmel (7-1). Giesey, Koesser and DeMarco all doubled, while Petrus tripled. Giesey and DeMarco each had 3 RBI.

Lakes' Karlie Rotunno was 2-for-2 with a triple and 2 RBI.

Buffalo Grove 4, Grant 0: Brianna Smith had the only hit for the Bulldogs.
