Prospect 15, Bartlett 3 (5 inn.): Lucas Karz went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI as the Knights produced another impressive offensive display in nonconference play Wednesday.

Ryan Molini and Trey Compton had 2 hits apiece, and Jake Cavaiani drove in a pair as Prospect (7-1) produced 11 hits and drew 7 walks.

Brian Mulvihill pitched 5 innings, allowing 5 hits and 3 earned runs, to pick up a victory.

Elk Grove 8, Leyden 2: Bobby Hlavin went 3-for-4 with a double and scored twice to help propel the Grenadiers in nonconference play.

Jonathan Maday pitched a complete game for Elk Grove, allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out eight with no walks.

Sean Fege went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, while Matt Wary went 1-for-3 with a pair or walks and steals for the Grens (3-2).

Robert Wisniewski doubled and drove in both runs for Leyden (0-4).

Barrington 17, Lake Zurich 2: The visiting Broncos produced 10 runs in the top of the seventh inning on their way to a nonconference victory.

Jimmy Day and Jake Petersen both had 3 hits, and Jake Coon, Casey Dodge, Anthony DeLaurentis, Patrick Dehnert, Luke Johnson and Mitch Pfeiffer had 2 apiece. Coon homered, while Day and Petersen both doubled twice.

Brooks Gosswein started and didn't allow an earned run in 4 innings to get the win.

Mundelein 11, Wheeling 0 (5 inn.): The visiting Wildcats managed 6 hits but also committed 3 errors in dropping a nonconference contest. Nathan Cooney was a bright spot at the top of the order for Wheeling (4-2), going 3-for-3 at the plate.

Christian Liberty 14, Round Lake 2 (5 inn.): The host Chargers charged past the Panthers by coming up with 14 hits in a nonconference victory.

Senior Tom Keplar earned the win for Christian Liberty, while Peter Grob (double), Aiden Miller and Chris Hoffman (triples) had extra-base hits.

South Elgin 10, Rolling Meadows 2: The visiting Mustangs were only out-hit 8-7 but couldn't overcome 6 errors in nonconference play. Terry Moran had 2 hits for Meadows, and Hank Holm drove in both Mustangs runs with a double.
